• The one person who has been a force in the Central Area Chamber of Commerce is DeCharlene, President of the chamber. It is so sad she is unable to get the support and cooperation needed to help make the chamber and the neighborhood a class act.

There are numerous things to be changed and updated which takes a great deal of hard work and dedication. The chamber could be a true force if there were persons who could see the big picture. Positive change is necessary to bring about prosperity to the neighborhood and the City of Seattle.

• The Central Area Chamber of Commerce, President DeCharlene will be holding tryouts for the 2010 Juneteeth Scholarship Pageant, on Saturday, May 22nd. All young ladies in their senior year who are interested please contact the chamber.
The Pageant will take place on Friday, June 18th, the deadline is June 11th.

This is a grand opportunity to obtain a cash scholarship to help with college expenses. The winner of the contest will represent the Chamber thoughout the year at selective events, take part in Community Activities and have the opportunity to represent the Chamber at the Seafair Schlorship Pageant.
